The YSW Project focuses on pleasure boating safety and the use of information technology by the yachting sector. Its main objectives can be summarized as follows:

• Design, prototyping, and laboratory and field testing of a next-generation pleasure-boating safety system.
• Design, prototyping, and laboratory and field testing of next-generation information systems that add value for the yachting sector. The platform will also incorporate environmental sensors and detection apparatus for data collection purposes.
